Weekly Lawn Mowing

Keep your lawn looking exceptional all season long with 5T Lawn & Landscaping's weekly mowing service. -- trusted by home and business owners throughout the Ceresco, Valparaiso, Davey, Raymond, Ashland, and Wahoo, Nebraska communities.

We deliver top-quality results to our standard residential clients, while specializing in large properties and acreage jobs at surprisingly affordable prices. Thanks to our experienced crew and large, capable equipment, we handle large lawns efficiently, without breaking the bank.

We mow at a consistent 3.75-inch cutting height — the perfect height for Nebraska lawns. This promotes deeper root systems, superior drought tolerance (ideal for non-irrigated yards), thicker turf, and greater durability against summer heat, weeds, and heavy foot traffic.

Every visit ends with crisp, straight edging along driveways and sidewalks for that sharp, professional finish, plus meticulous trimming around trees, flower beds, fences, and every other obstacle in your yard — leaving no detail overlooked.

Best of all? We stand behind every service with our 100% Money-Back Guarantee. If you're not completely satisfied with the results, we'll make it right — or refund your last visit. No hassle, no risk — just exceptional, worry-free lawn care.

4-Step Fertilizer Program

Application One: Early to Mid-April:
21-3-5 NPK + 0.15% Dimension Crabgrass Pre-Emergent Herbicide
We kick off the season with a balanced fertilizer to fuel spring green-up, combined with Dimension (dithiopyr) — a proven crabgrass preventer. Applied in early to mid-April, this timing ensures the pre-emergent activates with spring rains or irrigation, creating a barrier before crabgrass seeds germinate (typically when soil temps hit 55°F consistently). It provides early-season weed protection while giving your grass the nutrients it needs to recover from winter.

Application Two: Late June to Mid-July:
22-3-8 NPK + Merit Grub Control
Mid-summer feeding with controlled-release nitrogen supports steady growth without excessive top growth. Paired with Merit (imidacloprid), this application targets white grubs preventively — applied before adult beetles lay eggs, so the insecticide reaches the root zone to protect against larval damage from Japanese beetles, June bugs, and others. Perfect timing for Nebraska's grub cycle, keeping your turf strong through peak heat and stress.

Application Three: Mid-August to Mid-September:
22-3-11 NPK + 3% Iron Oxide
As summer winds down, we deliver a boost to promote recovery and deeper color heading into fall. The added iron oxide helps enhance chlorophyll production for that rich, dark green appearance and improves overall turf resilience against late-summer heat, drought, and other stressors — a key step for Nebraska lawns facing our variable Midwest weather conditions.

Application Four: Late October to Early November:
30-0-0 with 15% Sulfur
Our high-nitrogen, slow-release "winterizer" application focuses on root development and energy storage for dormancy. This late-fall feeding provides long-lasting nutrition that carries through winter and jump-starts vigorous spring growth. The 15% sulfur helps gradually lower soil pH in our often neutral-to-alkaline Nebraska soils, improving nutrient availability (especially micronutrients like iron) for healthier roots year-round.

Weed Control

Basic Weed Control Program: This entry-level approach focuses on broadleaf weed management using 2,4-D, a selective herbicide that targets most broadleaf weeds without hurting turfgrasses. The application timing is late spring/early summer, when weeds are actively growing, or in the fall, just as perennial weeds are preparing for dormancy.

Advanced Weed Control Program: For lawns with persistent or tough weeds, this program builds upon the foundation of the Basic Weed Control Program,  with the addition of two herbicides, depending upon the weeds being targeted. Not every lawn needs this program - we will assess the weeds present in your lawn and inform you of the program that would best suit your needs. No guesswork or research is necessary on your end.
- Turflon Ester Ultra (Triclopyr) - Targets the hard-to-kill perennial weeds that even 2,4-D won't touch. The weeds that typically require this herbicide are clovers and ground ivy.
- Quentessential (Quinclorac) - Targets weedy, summer grasses, such as crabgrass and foxtail, without harming any of the desirable turfgrass species.

Total Vegetation Control Option: Non-selective herbicide application. Reserved for non-lawn areas (drives, sidewalks, lagoon shorelines), where complete plant eradication and control is required. Depending upon the situation, spot-spraying and broadcast application methods are used. Please address any application timing and frequency questions in the estimate request.

Landscape/Bed Control Maintenance: Keep your mulch, rock, and planted beds weed-free with our multi-application pre-emergent herbicide program. We apply timed treatments to prevent weeds from germinating in your landscaping installations, helping to reduce hand-weeding and maintaining a clean, professional-looking landscape season-long.

We stand behind our professional weed control program with complete confidence — that's why we offer a
100% money-back guarantee. If the application doesn't deliver the results you expect and deserve, let us know. We'll make it right with a free re-spray at no additional cost or provide a full refund — your satisfaction is our priority.

Aeration & Overseeding

Aeration and overseeding are two of the most effective ways to rejuvenate your lawn, improve root growth, and achieve that thick, vibrant green look year after year.

Below is the professional program that we recommend and perform:

Step 1. Core Aeration - The Foundation for Success
Core aeration utilizes a specialized machine to remove small plugs of soil (about 2-3 inches deep), relieving compaction, improving air/water/nutrient flow to the roots, and creating perfect channels for new seed.

Proper depth is critical — plugs must reach 2-3 inches for maximum benefit. Shallow aeration provides little value, so we only proceed when soil conditions allow for ideal depth. We avoid aerating hard, dry ground, even if it means adjusting schedules or reducing the number of clients. Quality always comes before quantity — your lawn deserves the best results.

Step 2. Timing: Spring vs. Fall – We Know What Works Best Here

Spring Aeration (typically April-May): Great for relieving compaction after winter and preparing the lawn for the growing season. We offer this service, but we do not recommend overseeding cool-season grasses at this time — the hot summer ahead can stress new seedlings and reduce success rates.

Fall Aeration + Overseeding (ideally late August through mid-October): This is the gold standard for Nebraska lawns! Cooler temperatures, increased moisture, and reduced weed competition give new seedlings the ideal environment to germinate and establish strong roots before winter. The result? A thicker, denser lawn when spring arrives.

Step 3. Premium Seed Blends - Only the Best for Your Lawn

We exclusively use high-quality seed blends from Miller Seed Co. in Lincoln, NE, and Todd Valley Farms in Mead, NE. Before overseeding, we identify your existing turfgrass species and select a matching premium blend for seamless integration and superior long-term performance.
